street style: heather keppler

Heather Keppler is a long-time resident and lover of Alexandria. Heather and her husband bought their first home in Old Town on Alfred street when they were first married. Soon thereafter, they adopted their dog, Barth, from the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter.

Ten years and three kids later, Heather still loves to head out into Old Town for date nights with her husband, lunch with her fabulous friends, yoga at Pure Prana studio, haircuts at Lulu Sage and of course for shopping at her favorite boutiques.

Heather loves to cook and entertain in her home. When the Farmer’s Market is not in season, she gets fresh local food delivered to her door by Washington’s Green Grocer. She is passionate about supporting local farmers and trying new recipes. Her friends and family benefit greatly from her prowess in the kitchen. Her favorite things to cook are Tex-Mex, a nod to her roots having grown up in Texas.

Heather’s passion for cooking is a direct result of her passion for eating good food. Along with her husband, she loves to go out to eat; their favorite restaurant is Restaurant Eve. They even saw and were seated next to the President and his wife during one of their many visits! How is that for fabulous? If you are looking for a restaurant recommendation in the DC area, you need to just email Heather!

When they go out, Heather loves to dress up and Alexandria has many places to choose from when it comes to fabulous evening wear. She believes that part of the fun of fashion is feeling confident in anything you wear. Heather stays in shape, even with her love for delicious eats, because of the Boot Camp style classes she attends every morning.

In her every day life as a mom of three, she keeps things simple and dresses in comfortable but well tailored pants or leggings, a button down or oversize top and a blazer or a sweater. She keeps the jewelry minimal and pairs everything with fun flats or boots. Everything in Heather’s closet can be mixed and matched.

Heather is dressed here in a black and white Alice and Trixie dress from Zoe Boutique, with gold Kate Spade heels from The Shoe Hive. Her earrings and bracelets are by local designer, ADMK Jewelry, also available at Zoe.
