A total natural athlete, Molly Conway is a complete pleasure to have in the gym at Fitness on the Run. We just love her. Whether we are just chatting it up or when she is C-R-U-S-H-I-N-G some movement in KB 101 with Remi, she is charming and always brings light and fun to our family at FOR. She has been with FOR for a whopping four years and we pinch ourselves every day that she is!
Molly is a regular — even when she was eight months pregnant! — at Remi’s 8am Kettlebell 101. She grabs her favorite spot near the row of Kettlebells (for easy access!), and it’s a delight to listen to her answers to Remi’s “ice breaker” question every week. Ask her about her “funniest pick up line!”
Says Remi, “Molly defines dedication. You can catch her every Saturday in FOR. She is always the first person ready to get started, on the line with her bell in hand!”
After class, we can always count on her husband Ryan meeting her at the gym door with baby Norah and their cockapoo pooch in tow so they can “switch off” and he can head into the 9am Strength and Conditioning class. Cutest couple ever! ❤️
We learn a lot from our family of FOR friends during their sessions and classes, especially Remi’s 8am KB 101! A lot comes out during class. As a member of our tight-knit family, Molly helps keep the class fun with lots of comedy to counter Remi’s killer programs!
Molly is like the sister to whom you turn when you have something going on in your life you want to share or need advice. This is because she makes you feel like she is really listening and cares about what you are saying. It helps that she is easy-going and has a permanent, pleasant smile! Think she’s cool now? Check out her style!
How do you spend your time? My husband and I never tire of walking around Old Town. There’s always something new to look at or something you never noticed before. Our infant daughter and cockapoo come with us, of course!
Neighborhood: Parker Gray
How long have you lived in Alexandria: All my life, I grew up here.
What brought you to Alexandria? My husband and I moved to Old Town five years ago. I was struck by how much the city had changed since I was in high school. Old Town is very cool with great boutiques, trendy restaurants, and a thriving community. When you combine that with the city’s walkability, it’s an incredibly desirable place to live.
What would surprise people about you? I played Division I lacrosse for George Washington University (go G-dub!).
You’re a superhero: what’s your superpower? The ability to fly — anything that shortens my commute.
Favorite cocktail: A gin and tonic on a hot summer day.
Last book read or movie seen: Ruth Ware’s The Death of Mrs. Westaway — if you like creepy stories!
Guilty Pleasure: Apple croissants from the Saturday farmers’ market.
Phrase you overuse: Literally.
Facebook or Instagram? Instagram. I love to cook and that’s where I get a lot of my ideas. The New York Times Cooking and Bon Appetite are two of my favorites. Beautiful pictures of food make me hungry!
Latest binge-watch: Netflix’s Friends from College
Bucket list travel destination: Patagonia. It’s actually my husband’s dream, but I’m right there with him.
If you only could have one for the rest of your life: wine or coffee? What an awful question! It would have to be coffee, but I’d be sad about giving up wine.
Define your style in three words or less: Comfortable slim fit.
The go-to piece in your wardrobe: Black jeans
Favorite trend ever: Flats. I’m nearly 5’10” so there was a time in my life when heels were intimidating.
Favorite current trend: High-waisted pants.
Beauty product you can’t live without: Under-eye concealer
Favorite fragrance: Right now I’m wearing Tory Burch.
Heels or flats? Both. I usually split the work day between the two, which keeps my feet happy.
Favorite room in your home: My bedroom because it gets tons of natural light and I love catching an afternoon cat nap there on the weekend.
Antiques, modern, or a mix? Mid-century modern all the way
Last item bought for your home: A gorgeous rug from Rejuvenation. My husband picked it out and it really pops in our front room.
Next planned purchase: New bathroom fixtures
Favorite way to entertain: On the patio, with music, drinks, and the grill going.
Clutter-free or well lived-in? Clutter-free. It’s better for my sanity.
Wallpaper — yes, totally modern or no, so dated: Totally modern!
Your go-to work-out: Kettlebell 101 with Remi at Fitness on the Run. FOR is my happy place — they make working out fun and accessible and have fostered a great community.
Most fun way to exercise: With weights!
Group exercise or solo: Group. You push each other whether you realize it or not.
Fitness goal: To be strong.
Haven’t yet, but might be willing to try with coaching / encouragement: Aerial yoga
Proudest fitness achievement: Doing one pull-up back when I was in college. It took me four years of strength training to get there.
Last purchase in Alexandria: A Ganni blouse from The Hive
Best coffee / happy hour / date night spot: Misha’s is our go-to for coffee on weekends. We like to pair it with a Munch Wrap from Lori’s Table on King. The hash browns completely elevate this breakfast wrap.
Favorite charity: Alexandria’s Department of Community and Human Services runs a wonderful Holiday Sharing Program where you can be a sponsor and fulfill Christmas wish lists for families, foster children, and seniors and disabled adults in need.
Favorite annual Alexandria event: The Scottish Walk. It puts you in the Christmas spirit.
