Thanksgiving Fun & Games for the Whole Family

I love hanging out with my family. Nothing makes me happier. But let’s admit it, there is a lot of free time over the Thanksgiving weekend. It’s basically everything in between Thanksgiving dinner, the Turkey Trot, Black Friday shopping, and then watching the Ohio State vs Michigan game.We need to come up with some things to occupy the down time, right? We have a few options at The Shoe Hive to help keep the in-laws or the little ones busy.My sister and I like to call activities like playing games family bonding, but due to our competitive natures it can be a little tense at times. We never lose sight of the fun, however. So when I was at market last summer and saw a booth full of old and few new games, I had to write an order. We have one of my childhood favorites, Chinese Checkers, and some new options like Link It and Ding It, or a mix of Boggle and Scrabble called Word for Word. For the kids we have a box of Knock Knock jokes -- if your kids are like mine, they tell the same ones over and over and need new material -- along with card games and crafts. Then for the entire family we have lots and lots of coloring options! This trend has not gone anywhere and we are stocked with posters, placemats, postcards, and even a portable pocket coloring game you can toss in your purse.
