The Hive’s Fall Look Book

I have to admit, I loved this summer more than any other. Our family has a cabin on the Northern Neck of Virginia, on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, and we were there about 75 percent of the time. The cancellation of camps, vacations, and my work travel was a bummer and a blessing at the same time. There were unbroken 10 day stretches when the only places I went were to Walmart or the county dump. This type of social calendar leads me to become a bit of a slob. My hair was never not in a knot on top of my head and I lived in workout clothes the entire summer. Many days it wasn’t even cute Lululemon; it was my husband’s collection of University of Tennessee and University of Missouri t-shirts that are all over a decade old.I sat on the screen porch looking at the river flowing by in front of me. I was productive writing Stylebook posts, planning all the fall events, chasing down orders, and figuring out what and when we could get for fall and holiday since all deliveries and production were turned on their head. As I looked through orders and line sheets, I got a little eager and excited for fall. We have a list of store events scheduled and that means it’s time to get back into the store. I am excited about it and as I look through the look book for fall, I am ready to get back into clothes. Our look book for sure looks different than it has in years past. There’s not as much workwear as before, but there are still plenty of options. There were many emails I got about items not being produced that bummed me out, but as I flip through our look book, I think we have a great selection. The dressier pieces that designers decided not to produce allowed us to add many other easy to wear options as replacements. It’s a fall season of practical clothes for a more casual lifestyle. I can’t wait for cooler days when I get to wear my Allude cashmere paired with my new AGL booties, blazers with jeans, and skirts with sneakers. So, get excited about fall and get excited to get out of your flip flops and get dressed.
