The Top Three Hair Trends This Spring

As Angela mentioned yesterday, now is the time to schedule that hair appointment, but what look is right for you this season? While there are quite a few hair trends out there, we've narrowed it down to our top three freshest looks for spring 2019.

The Blunt Bob

We always see an interest in shorter hairstyles as we inch toward the warmer months and many women have been interested in the bob life lately. Bob cuts take many shapes and styles, but the one length, blunt bob cut is usually a bit lower than your chin and is made interesting by adding texture to the cut. It's a nice diversion from the classic bob, and can take your style to automatic chic in minutes. One thing to keep in mind is that this look can work for many hair types and textures but if you have fine hair, a one length blunt bob can be perfect as short hair creates the illusion that the hair is fuller. Also, having hair with no layers but texture allows the hair to appear thicker, as well. We say don't hesitate to get ahead of the game this spring and get the bob you never knew you needed!

Glossy Locks

Our next tip is for anyone who has opted out of color of late and has been feeling a little dull with their natural color. We're always surprised that many people don't realize this, but adding a gloss treatment is a simple way for more vibrant locks. We have some gems at Bazzak from Aveda that will have your hair feeling silky soft, smooth, and shiny. For our naturally gray ladies, we recommend adding a few white highlights to brighten up the overall gray along with a gloss treatment. We can also do a gray blending treatment where we add tones to the gloss to remove any brassiness or unwanted stubborn colors. A gloss treatment isn't ridiculously expensive and can last for up to eight weeks, so don't wait. Let’s brighten up those tresses and get them spring ready.

The Shag

Last but not least, and certainly a blast from the past, the shag has came back, but in such an up-to-date way. The shag is typically a longer, layered cut, giving the hair lots of dimension along with with tons of style and volume. This cut has been so modernized that it practically styles itself when cut properly and it’s almost crazy not to love it.The shag can work for different hair lengths, but only if you don’t mind an unkempt (but not "messy") look. The beauty of the shag is that's it's carefree, yet tamed, so it works for many hair types. Whether it's straight, curly, or wavy, this cut is a go to when you want style and low maintenance. We hope we've given you some ideas for the warmer months ahead and appreciate you taking the time to read our post! Along with considering a new look, don't forget to pick up a leave-in conditioner spray to help combat the frizz for the heat and humidity that's just around the corner!
