Veronica Beard Trunk Show + Launch Party Hosted by Blonde in the District

A few months ago, I was doing what I tend to do in my spare time: scrolling through Instagram. I typically stalk brands and other stores, but I came across a charming blonde whom I instantly recognized as several people had told me about her. Her name is Dani and her blog is Blonde in the District. She has great style, is gorgeous, and lives right here in Old Town. I was unaware that she was local until I started watching her Instagram stories and heard her talking about how she was going to a party later that night and wanted to purchase something new to wear (we all know how that goes). She was disappointed she couldn’t find anything to wear in her size in her own town, Old Town.I felt like a jerk. Not long after, my coworker sent me an article that Veronica Beard announced it was going to extend its size offerings...something of a rarity in the lines I carry at The Hive. The Veronicas, the fashion world’s title for the sisters-in-law who own Veronica Beard, started to realize the need to expand their collection after Veronica Swanson's mother and cousin had great difficulty finding Veronica Beard clothing that fit. The Veronicas knew it was beyond time to bring their brand to the majority of American women. As quoted in Elle, Veronica Miele (the other Veronica) said, "Veronica Beard is a sisterhood. When we started the brand, we set out to fill a void in the market to design clothing for all women who have all these demands, but we realized over time that we weren't reaching women like Veronica's mother and her cousin who could never fit in a Dickey jacket . . . It was staring us in the face that we needed to make an offering for all women and not just women of a certain size."I instantly emailed my rep and asked, “How do I get in on this?” Luckily for me they were offering some of their independent accounts a chance to host trunk shows to help launch the collection. I immediately jumped on the opportunity! Finally, my favorite clothing line and a customer favorite was accessible to woman of all different shapes and sizes...and we have an influencer literally in our own town who is showing us that beauty is not defined by size every day. Have I mention she was just named one of Washingtonian’s 2019 Style Setters?Dani will be hosting the launch of our collection this Thursday, September 19, from 6 - 8pm.It gets even better! We are doing 20 percent off all Veronica Beard that weekend. So, come shop and stock up on fall. Check out both of our look books for the trunk show and current fall merchandise. Special orders available as well.
