Last year I happily contributed our Style Consult and a mini In-Person Shopping appointment to the "You & Improved" giveaway for an Alexandria Stylebook reader to win. When the lucky winner, Elizabeth, contacted me, the first step was to schedule her one-hour Style Consult.During a DC Style Factory Consult appointment, we strategize, define the client's style, and put together a budgeted and prioritized shopping list, which is then compiled into a Style Memo; this becomes our roadmap for each client's personal style. We defined Elizabeth's style as Classic with elements of French Chic, California Cool, and Bombshell mixed in.Elizabeth is a PR agent who is moving to Switzerland for the next few years. Because she works from home, she didn't need full suits or any sort of work-wear attire, but told me she still loves wearing blazers! Our goal was to source new casual-yet-polished, mix-and-match pieces she can dress up or down. We focused on finding pieces that were streamlined and timeless, yet had some flair.After her consult, the next step was to schedule a two-hour shopping appointment. I was thrilled that I got to pull from the Alexandria Stylebook boutiques because I knew I could get her exactly what she needed -- classic pieces that are elevated by designer flair.To streamline our In-Person Shopping process, for the first hour of the appointment DC Style Factory stylists pull items from the client's shopping list. When the client joins for the second hour, they arrive to a dressing room ready for them. All they have to do is try everything on!Elizabeth was ecstatic about being able to try on such amazing pieces from local boutiques.
