Bellacara’s 2019 Beauty Trends Report: Makeup Edition

Spring fashion runways and surged Pinterest searches have indicated that the following beauty trends are poised to be big this spring.

The Lash Lift & Lash Strips

After years of lash extensions it seems that we’re exhausted of the expensive and time-consuming process. Natural lashes are where its at this spring. Lash growth serums and natural lash lifts will reign supreme. So, what is a lash lift? Essentially, it’s a perm for your lashes. Your lashes are curled backwards over a silicone bump and while you lie there with eyes closed, a hair perming lotion is applied to the lashes. The end result is a curled lash that makes your lashes appear longer. Used after a period of lash-enhancing conditioner (like Revitalash), the effect is pretty impressive and can last six to eight weeks. Get a lash lift and tint and you may not even need mascara most days.Want more drama once in a while? No problem. False lash strips will be big. Use them when you want a bit more drama without the damage of lash extensions.

A Bold Lip

We saw this trend all over the runways: bright, bold lips. Strong corals and pinks took the place of the popular nude look of 2018. The look is paired with minimal eye makeup, think mascara and a sweep of neutral shadow. No eyeliner required. We love it.

Glossy Makeup

This trend isn’t going anywhere. We’re going from dewy skin to glossy lips and eyes. Try Kevyn Aucoin Eye Gloss or Surratt Beauty Lid Lacquer. Pair it with a high-gloss lip shine like Smith + Cult Lip Lacquer and you’ve nailed this trend.

Almond-Shaped Nails Dip Nails

Out goes the coffin-shaped nail of 2018 and in comes the almond-shaped nail. This is a more universally flattering look and is much easier to maintain. The dip nail is on the rise as well. Lasting longer than gels, the dip nail is gaining in popularity.

Graphic Eyeliner

For those days when you’re not feeling the bold lip, try the graphic eyeliner. Eyeliner took on bolder colors and more innovative applications on the runways. Granted this isn’t an everyday look, but give it a try you may like it more than you think.
