2023: What's Trending In The Floral World
It's that time of year! Just like April showers bring May flowers, December proposals bring a windfall of January wedding inquiries. Each year, we see trends emerge in the floral world. Here's what we see for 2023:
Muddy, Nude Tones
If last year was the year of mauve and antique gold, this year heralds muddy, nude tones. In addition, we're seeing new varieties of taupe and brown-toned roses at the market, though pricing remains high on these in-demand colors.
Reflexed Flowers
If you do not know about reflexed flowers, they're all the rage in the events world. Petals are peeled back to force the flower to appear at peak openness. As a result, the flowers sometimes take on a completely different shape and personality. We're big fans of this look, in moderation. (Peep the tulips in this photo, they're incredible!)
Color
Color is back, baby! We are incredibly excited to report that brides are diving into bold and saturated colors in 2023. And, while it's tough to say how big of an impact the Pantone Color of the Year (Viva Magenta!) has, we've certainly seen an uptick in shades of magenta and berry.
Dusty Blue
For our brides who aren't leaning into bold colors, we're seeing a lot of requests for soft and powdery blue tones.
Local Everything
The demand for local flowers (think dahlias, lisianthus, flowering branches) and big bales of foraged greens are higher than ever. Brides are chasing lush florals that mimic a garden. They're also all about oversized arrangements. So we're working with our local farmers to ensure a good supply for the season ahead.
If the first year of the month indicates trends, we're in store for a year of gorgeousness and inventive color palettes. Swoon!
