Girls Run The World (Wearing Veronica Beard)

Last week we featured our tiny but mighty friend and PR guru Maurisa Potts wearing all AGL and Veronica Beard. Since it is Women’s History Month, we wanted to make sure we featured more female-owned businesses, and we couldn’t think of a better one than The Patterson Group. I mean when you say women powerhouse businesses in Alexandria, you think of the Patterson Group. I have Beyoncé’s “Run the World” playing in my head right now. I was actually startled when I went to their offices for a meeting and there was a male at the front desk.

The Patterson Team represents everything the Veronica Beard brand embodies. Their style is cool-meets-classic and focuses on what I consider the most versatile piece of anyone’s closet, the blazer. Veronica Beard is designed with easy-to-wear pieces that can take you from season to season, day to night, perfect for women on the go like the Patterson Team.

At the helm of this company is Phyllis Patterson. She is like Maurisa, tiny but mighty. She started in the real estate business more than 30 years ago and is the mother of 4, two of which are part of the firm. As a mom of a teenage girl, I can say with great confidence that if my children ever work with me when they are adults it will be the happiest day of my life, and I know Phyllis feels the same.

If you follow them on Instagram you know their team has grown in the last year, with lots and lots of adorable new babies. Maria, Paige, and Brit all have little ones at home now and Paige is expecting her second one in a few months. This is a busy group of women with lots to do.

Paige was easy to dress in the Haylee tank dress in watermelon and black. It’s perfect for her growing belly and so comfortable. We dressed it down by layering a colorful spring sweater, then with a cropped denim jacket for a bit dressier look that can work for a casual day at the office or out running errands then grabbing dinner. The dress is also available in black, and we added a cropped blazer. It is the perfect layering piece.

Ali had so much fun styling Margaret. The single lady of the bunch, we wanted to push her a little bit. The denim suit was amazing on her, and she also is wearing one of my favorites, the paisley skirt, and shirt. I love both these for Margaret because there is so much versatility in these sets. They make dressing easy when you wear them together but offer so many options as separates. If only we had more time, the outfits would have been endless.

The newest mom, Britt is always on the go and now with Georgie, she is even busier than before. We wanted to make sure she had throw-on-and-go options, like the cropped trench that she can wear with anything and will have in her closet for years to come. Of course, a great pair of white or off-white denim are a spring wardrobe must. Then how amazing is this set on Brit? It looks like a dress but once again, is perfect for mixing and matching.

Maria is also a mom of a young toddler, so she doesn’t have time to worry about getting dressed but wants to look put together. The Afton wrap dress was perfect. It’s a great fabric that will last 10 months out of the year. Then the peplum top is great with jeans or anything really. I predict it will sell out fast. And every mom on the go needs good jeans so we put her in a great black pair that can pass for a pant and a more casual white pair that we dressed up a little and made more casual with the blue sweater.

As you can see, the Veronica Beard clothes are as versatile as the women we photographed. We are so thankful that they made time for us. We know they don’t have the time to do this, so we appreciate it.

Make sure you come in and check out all the Veronica Beard and all our other spring arrivals. And don’t forget all Veronica Beard is 20 percent off this weekend.
