A Designer’s Favorite: Cisco Home Upholstery

When I found out that our friend, Kristin Try, was joining us at Alexandria Stylebook I thought to myself, “Our readers are in for a real treat!”  We have been working with Kristin for years and she is amazing. In her work you’ll find elements that are just edgy enough to be current, but also feel timeless. You’ll also find quite a few Cisco Home pieces. That’s because Kristin knows good design and quality when she sees it. Or, in this case– when she sits on it.

As the only store in the DMV who carries Cisco Home, Red Barn Mercantile has had the pleasure of working with a slew of talented designers like Kristin to source this artisan line of upholstery. It’s definitely a designer's favorite for the nuance of the design and the craftsmanship. But it’s particularly preferred because it’s so customizable.

With a Cisco Home piece you can use their fabric or provide your own. You can use one fabric or mix fabrics like we did with the Tulip chair at the store. You can add trim, change legs and leg stains, remove piping, and upgrade the supports. You can even request that the piece be longer or wider; or longer and wider. There’s nowhere on the internet or in a big box store that you’re able to do that. When you or your designer works with us and Cisco Home the sky is virtually the limit.

Red Barn’s semi-annual upholstery sale starts February 1 and is your chance to get the perfect upholstery piece for your space. Our team would be happy to help you directly, but if you’re in need of an interior designer (and Kristin isn’t available wink, wink), please reach out and we’ll connect you with one of our other partners. We work with talented people all over the DMV who specialize in one-room refreshes and soup to nuts projects. And, if you’re a designer in need of Cisco Home, please let us know how we can help you!
