Ringing in 2025 with Top 10 Kristin Try Interiors Timeless Trends

As we usher in a new year, it’s easy to get caught up in the latest and greatest trends. But as we celebrate a decade of Kristin Try Interiors (KTI), I wanted to reflect on some of my all-time favorite design principles—ones that have stood the test of time. At KTI, we work hard to create homes that bring joy and purpose, while ensuring that the investments you make in your spaces truly last. While I understand the love for something new and fresh, timeless design can offer that same sense of delight—and these trends are proof of it.

My Top 10 Timeless Trends:

1. Natural Stone
My love for beautiful marble slabs knows no bounds. Whether it’s Calacatta Gold in a kitchen or Virginia Mist Leathered Granite in a bathroom, natural stone brings unparalleled beauty and durability to any space. Black Absolute Leathered Granite is another classic that adds depth and texture.

2. Heirloom Furniture Made in the USA
Supporting American craftsmanship has always been a priority for us. Not only is it sustainable and customizable, but sourcing quality, locally made furniture also became even more essential during the pandemic. This trend will remain a cornerstone of our work.

3. Vintage and Antique Pieces
Unique, storied, and deeply personal, vintage and antique pieces breathe life into any home. Whether it’s a family heirloom or a flea-market find, these treasures often evoke cherished memories and add irreplaceable charm.

4. Artisan Textiles
Handcrafted fabrics are a staple in all our projects. From handwoven throws to custom draperies, artisan textiles elevate your space while supporting small businesses and artists whose work we deeply admire.

5. Original Artwork
As someone who began my journey as an abstract artist, incorporating original artwork into our designs remains a passion. Art—especially pieces by local artists—adds a personal and meaningful touch, inspiring you every day while making your home truly unique.

6. Classic Tile
Subway tile will always be a favorite of mine. Its versatility is timeless, and it’s fun to get creative with trim pieces or layouts. Like a little black dress, a white subway tile is effortlessly chic—but color options abound for those looking to make a statement.

7. Quality Custom Cabinetry
Investing in custom cabinetry is always worth it. It ensures functionality, durability, and beauty for years to come. We love partnering with local millwork teams to craft stunning built-ins, vanities, and storage solutions tailored to each client’s needs. Inset cabinetry is a favorite for historic homes, though frameless cabinets have their moments, too.

8. Simple and Classic Design Elements
Shaker cabinet doors, period-specific windows, oak flooring, and euro-pleat draperies—these details set the stage for timeless interiors. They’re unassuming yet impactful, creating a canvas that supports evolving personal styles.

9. Personalized Design Choices
Your home should reflect you, not what’s trending on social media. Resist the urge to crowdsource or compare. Instead, embrace what speaks to you—whether it’s a bold paint color, a funky antique table from a memorable trip, or a one-of-a-kind commissioned artwork. Confidence in your choices makes them timeless.

10. Mixing Splurge and Save, Old and New
The best rooms evolve over time, blending high-end pieces with budget-friendly finds and mixing modern items with vintage treasures. Remember: not everything in a room should compete for attention. Balance is key.

Looking Ahead

And that’s a wrap on my timeless trends for 2025!
