3 Easy Tips for a Festive Fall Happy Hour

We love the holidays here at Laura Hooper Calligraphy and are always looking for fun ways to take our family dinners and soirees with friends up a notch. Our custom, hand-lettered holiday collection is the perfect way to add a personalized touch to your holiday decor. Our beautiful {and real!} white pumpkins {these make great additions to your bar cart, centerpiece, or front porch all the way through November}, the white mini-pumpkins {personalized place cards for the win with these little cuties!} and of course the ornaments and other Christmas decorations are all hand-lettered right here in Old Town Alexandria.  Today we’re sharing three easy tips to pull together a quick fall charcuterie and treat display.Step 1: Use platters of different heights and sizes to add depth to the buffet as well as basic greens to add interest.  Step 2: Pair two - three cheeses with some almonds {we love marcona!}, crackers, and either honey or jam along with a few mini desserts. We like getting an assortment of bite-size desserts so you can have a variety. Plus, they are easier to eat than a full size pie, for example. For a heartier display you can also add in some salami or prosciutto. Step 3: Add hand-lettered pumpkins & foiled napkins for an unexpected surprise that adds texture to the overall style.  Including simple details like these will elevate the look of your display for any soiree whether it’s a small gathering with friends or a larger holiday meal.  Shop the full LHC Holiday Collection here and don’t forget we offer free pickup for locals from our Old Town Alexandria studio.
