Fall Beauty Forecast: 10 Makeup Trends to Try Now
Hi, friends, I’m Celthia, professional makeup artist and boutique owner here at Bellacara in Old Town. If there’s one thing I know, it’s that fall always brings a fresh wave of beauty inspiration. This year, I’m spotting 10 standout trends making their way into my store, onto the faces of the news guests I style and into my own fall look.
1. Toasted Wine Lips
Every season, I fall again for deep berry and wine-toned lips. There’s something so luxurious and timeless about them—perfect against a soft, well-blended complexion (a vibe Drita Paljevic calls elevated and timeless). For a suggestion from our shelves, Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte lipstick in Figue is a rich, velvety stain that lasts all evening – especially with Lou Lou lip liner.
2. Naturally Polished Skin
Lately, clients are asking for skin that looks like them, just better. Lightweight tints or sheer to medium foundations, a touch of highlight, it’s all about embracing your texture without hiding it. We love products like the ReEvolve Finish Liquid Foundation Crystal Slipper Luminizer, Fara Homidi Essential Face Compact and Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Drops—they feel like skin, not makeup.
4. Bold Draped Blush
Blush isn’t limited to the apples of your cheeks anymore. This fall, I’m seeing cheek color swept up toward temples and across cheekbones, especially in coral or berry tones. It sculpts and brightens all at once. I recommend Westman’s Baby Cheeks Powder Blush Duo.
5. Glitter Accents
I’ve been gently placing glitter in clients’ inner eye corners for that unexpected pop, especially when we’re creating a fresh neutral eye look. It turns a simple daytime look into something special. The Brow Gal’s Highlighter Pencil always delivers.
6. Fuller, Feathered Brows
Brows are softening. Rather than microbladed precision, I’m helping customers groom fluffy, natural arches. Tinted gels from brands like Blinc and T. LeClerc work beautifully to keep things polished yet soft, and tiny-tipped pencils allow you to draw realistic lines that follow your natural brow contours.
7. Long, Separated Lashes
We’re skipping clumps and going for long, fluttery lashes. I love layering lengthening mascaras, or recommending a lash lift if someone wants low-maintenance volume. The effect? Eyes that pop without looking overdone. I recommend: Westman’s Eye Want You Mascara
8. Rose Gold Details
Rose gold is showing up in eyeshadow, eyeliner, even highlights. Its warm shimmer flatters everyone. I often reach for ReDimension’s Hydra Powder Blush– it’s subtle, radiant, and oh-so-sophisticated. And I also love Kevin Aucoin’s Glass Glow Lip.
9. Bright Pops of Blush
Sometimes all you need is a flush of unexpected color: apricot, fuchsia, or bright pink. I pair these with neutral eyes and soft skin for a contemporary, youthful glow that feels totally fresh. Kevyn Aucoin’s Sensual Skin Blush in the shade "Revealed" and RMS Beauty’s "Pomegranate Fizz" ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush are two perfect shades and formulations for this trend.
10. Lustrous and Dimensional Lids
Think solid washes of pink, tan, or brownish color all over your lids, then a sheer, shimmery shade swiped all over that color. It gives a layered look that highlights each individual eye shape without being complicated or distracting. T. LeClerc’s eyeshadow palettes in "Rose des Sables" and "Nuit Etoilee" achieve this look.
Running a beauty boutique means I'm always testing, tweaking, and reimagining these trends with our products, making each season feel like a creative playdate. If you want one-on-one guidance, I offer makeup lessons right here at Bellacara, where we’ll explore these looks and tailor them just for you.
We look forward to seeing you soon and helping you transition from summer to fall beauty!
