Discovering Design Inspiration and Unique Finds in Alexandria: Crème de la Crème’s Newest Location
Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful design-focused event at Alexandria’s Crème de la Crème store, a new must-visit destination for design lovers on King Street. The evening was a true celebration of creativity and style, hosted in collaboration with the Design Leadership Network’s Editorial Director, Hadley Keller, and Crème de la Crème co-owner Tara Wegdam.
At the event, I picked up the perfect holiday gift for any design enthusiast: The Living Room, the latest title published by Assouline in partnership with the Design Leadership Network. This beautifully curated book celebrates the art of interiors and even highlights an exceptional local talent—Maria Crosby Pollard of Crosby Designs. It’s always inspiring to see the work of Alexandria designers being celebrated on such a distinguished platform.
For those unfamiliar, Crème de la Crème is a haven for unique home and entertaining finds. With other beloved locations, including my personal favorite in Middleburg, the store opened its newest outpost on King Street this past April, and it has quickly become a go-to for me. Whether you’re setting a holiday table or looking for special gifts, their selection never disappoints. For Thanksgiving, I found a stunning block-printed tablecloth, matching napkins, and charming candle holders—pieces that recently appeared in a collaborative photo featuring Helen Olivia and Kristin Try Interiors.
What made the evening even more enjoyable was the conversation with Hadley and Tara. Both are a wealth of knowledge and share a deep appreciation for Alexandria’s design scene. We chatted about favorite local designers and the increasing options for sourcing unique home goods right here in our community. It’s wonderful to see Alexandria becoming an even more vibrant hub for entertaining and interior design enthusiasts.
Whether you’re shopping for the perfect hostess gift or refreshing your own home decor, Crème de la Crème has something for everyone. Be sure to stop by their King Street location to discover your next design treasure—and don’t miss out on The Living Room book. It’s a gift that any design lover will cherish.
