Dreamiest Vacations

Sometimes you travel to a location that simply takes your breath away. You look around and the world takes a new shape, holds a new and more beautiful meaning. How have you never been here before and when can you go back with a one-way ticket? You take one step out of the ordinary and are immersed into a new walk of life, perhaps one with more gelato or rainbow reefs. If you’re chasing a vacation that feels more like a reverie, look no further as our contributors share their dreamiest travels…

Amy, Red Barn and Penny Post: That’s an easy one. That year the four of us went to Paris and Italy.  We packed too much in and were tired by the end of it all, but the trip was just delightful.  I would love to go back and stay for a longer period of time so I don’t feel rushed.

Elizabeth, The Hive, The Shoe Hive, and Yellow Jacket: I think my all time favorite vacation is when we went to Europe for the first time with our kids. We went to Italy and did a few nights in the city and some in the country. We rented Airbnbs both places to keep it cheap and we had an amazing time. When we were out in the countryside we would explore all day then come home and cook at night. This was my most memorable vacation yet and I can’t wait to see more of the world with my kids.

Adrien, Alexandria Wellness: Ravello, Italy. Right on the Amalfi Coast and known as the “City of Music,” this was hands down my dreamiest travel destination.

Maria Elizabeth, Salon deZEN: To celebrate our dear friend's well-deserved retirement, he orchestrated a truly extraordinary escape to Bora Bora, bestowing upon our fortunate group an unparalleled adventure. Stepping foot on the island, I was instantaneously ensnared by the enchanting allure of the turquoise waters, ensconced within a tapestry of lush, verdant foliage. Nestled in opulent overwater bungalows, my honey and I awakened each morning to the mesmerizing spectacle of impossibly blue crystal-clear waters and the commanding presence of Mount Otemanu, an awe-inspiring backdrop for our jubilant festivities. From explorations of vibrant coral reefs to luxuriating under the caress of the tropical sun, our sojourn in Bora Bora unfolded as an unequivocally enchanting and magical experience.
