Buh-Bye, Red: Fabulous Nail Colors for Fall

Many of you know that if I have a manicure, my nails are probably red. For about three years, every time I went to the nail salon, I chose red. I would bring a bag of polishes with me, but inevitably I would select the red one. At one point, my nail tech asked why I bring the bag when I will ultimately choose red in the end. She had a point. So last week when I chose an oxblood polish (baby steps, people), I felt really proud of myself. She laughed and said it was still red, but to me it was definitely more purple than red.I have really enjoyed the color and it made me wonder what other colors I would be willing to try this fall. So here is a round-up of my favorite picks for fall. I am going to try to wear a different one each couple of weeks and expand my horizons. Back before I went all red, I was into the short, black nail polish. I still think it’s a sleek look with certain outfits, but I like the idea of a deep navy as a fresher alternative. Deborah Lippmann's Rolling in the Deep and Londontown Lakur in Buckingham Blue are my favorites. One of my favorite colors for fall in fashion and beauty is deep purple. I'm loving Londontown Lakur in Bell in Time and Smith & Cult in Dark Like Me. My absolute favorite is Londontown Lakur in Silver Birch, an elegant gray with a hint of blue that makes it feel current. The best dusty rose I have ever found is Deborah Lippmann in Love in the Dunes. Rose with gray and taupe undertones. Gorgeous. Looks great on all skin tones. Look at that! Not one red in the bunch. There is hope for me yet.
