Floral Trends for 2020
Floral designs add character to any party. Whether you're planning a wedding or a fun weekend bash, flowers add that special element that make moments unforgettable. I was lucky enough to sit down with the incredible Rachel Gang, Co-Owner of Helen Olivia Floral Design. We all know and love Helen Olivia and constantly swoon over their amazing floral arrangements for events and gifts. Quality flowers are perfect for any occasion and here are the top trends that Rachel says will bloom in 2020:
Weddings are Always “A La Carte”
For brides there are no standards. Weddings will always be “a la carte” to fit the couple’s style and wants. A premium bouquet can always be the star of the show. There are no typical floral budgets. A wedding budget for 100 people can be anywhere from $3,000 to $30,000 plus. A trend in the last five years is that brides are really wanting to make a statement on their wedding day. You want people to walk in and instantly feel like the flowers and design match the attitude and style of the couple. Flowers are the soul of weddings and other big events.
Custom-Built
Custom-built flower arrangements will continue to be on trend. This is everything from monogrammed flower walls, champagne walls, and even elevated table runners. Looking to find something wallet-friendly? Flower walls have a range for all budgets. Walls with some greenery and faux boxwood can be about $500. A full-blown, fresh floral wall can be a few thousand dollars. These are beautiful elevated items. You just have to picture the right priorities for your wedding or party. If having an eye-catching wall or runner is at the top of your list, these could be perfect.
Get Your Greens
Bright fresh greens and greenery are in. Rachel is seeing parties with large budgets, but they're just focusing on greenery with no flowers. She just designed a downtown wedding with a viney greenery theme. Picture story-like vines running up and down the stairs, suspended from rafters and dripping greenery with candles. This sounds like something out of a fairytale. People are also choosing to add tropicals like orchids, ginger, and lavenders for small pops of color. This means that rustic chic is officially gone. Brides are still choosing rustic venues, but they create a sophisticated atmosphere with their floral choices.
