Happy Hour Report: Best Deals, Longest Hours

There are some weeks when your work schedule can be rough stuff. Maybe you're in back-to-back meetings all day long, or you have an important presentation you're working on after hours. The only thing that's getting you through it all is the glorious knowledge that soon it’ll be wine o’clock. Luckily, here in Alexandria, we have a bundle of boozy deals. We (tried really hard) to narrow it down to the best deals during the longest amount of time. Here's a list of Alexandria happy hours that have deals on both drinks and food, and will have you counting down the minutes until 5pm (or better yet, 3pm).

The People’s Drug

 source

Happy hour is offered here every day from 3pm to 7pm. Sip on classic cocktails like Palomas and Moscow Mules containing thoughtfully cultivated liquor from small-batch distilleries, along with some lesser-known, liquor-forward gems, and wide-ranging beer and wine lists. The People’s Drug makes their own juices and syrups and takes great pride in making this lunch counter more grown-up than the soda-counter days of yore. Drink in a different decade at The People’s Drug, which reimagines the original Peoples Drug Store located in Alexandria in 1905. This place offers a modern take on an old general store that boasts its cocktail innovative-ness. True to its design, the People’s Signature Old Fashioned is a classic.

Daniel O’Connell's

Enjoy authentic Irish fare at this classic King Street go-to. Irish (and all eyes) will be smiling at their happy hour from 3pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday. Enjoy $3 off all starters with beer, wine and select drinks specials. Sip on whiskey while being surrounded by antiques, paintings and pictures salvaged from monasteries and castles. That’s enough to have us saying “Slainte!”
