Holiday Joy: A Home Transformed with Thoughtful Design
In Alexandria, Kelley Reynolds’ home has become a haven of warmth and joy during the holidays, thanks to a six-year collaboration with Kristin Try Interiors (KTI). Room by room, the partnership has created a space where design and function blend seamlessly, offering the perfect backdrop for celebrating family traditions and hosting loved ones.
“Our home feels festive, warm, and joyful during the holidays,” Kelley shares. “It’s a place where we truly enjoy spending time with family and friends.”
A Sunroom Sparkling with Cheer
One standout space is the conservatory sunroom, transformed from a blank slate into a cozy retreat that shines during the holidays. Its five Palladian windows provide the perfect setting for the family’s Christmas tree, while versatile furnishings adapt easily to make room for festive gatherings.
“We love the large coffee table for appetizers, swivel chairs for conversation, and the spacious couch that ensures everyone has a comfortable spot,” Kelley explains.
This year, the family is thrilled to debut their newly completed guest room, ready to welcome holiday visitors.
Holiday Traditions That Warm the Heart
For Kelley, the holidays officially begin with decorating two Christmas trees, each rich with meaning. The living room tree displays handblown ornaments collected throughout her marriage, while the sunroom tree brims with ornaments from her childhood and her children’s milestones.
“We light a SOH St. Nicholas candle, play Christmas music, and enjoy Los Poblanos hot chocolate from Red Barn Mercantile. Unwrapping ornaments feels like unwrapping memories, making the house come alive with holiday spirit.”
Local Charm Meets Festive Style
The family’s décor includes wreaths from American Plant, bows from Helen Olivia, and nostalgic Christmas houses from Red Barn Mercantile. In the dining room, nutcracker glasses and East Fork Pottery pair with table linens from Boxwood, while fresh flowers add a personal touch. See transformation from every day to holiday:
A Home That Feels Like Christmas
Through thoughtful design, KTI has created a home where function meets warmth. “Kristin’s ability to weave colors, furniture, and textiles has made each room cohesive yet unique,” Kelley reflects.
During the holidays, this transformation allows the family to focus on what matters most—hosting, connecting, and making cherished memories. “As we gather this season, we’re reminded of just how much our home brings us together,” Kelley says.
From a single room to an entire home, KTI specializes in creating spaces where holiday magic—and life’s everyday moments—can truly shine.
