Bringing Holiday Scents into Your Home
We have been carrying Wax & Wool candles for a while now, and I am in love with their newest holiday collection. The company is a small, woman owned and operated candle studio located in the Puyallup Valley in Washington State. Founder Kjerste Whaley is a busy mother of five littles and an avid knitter and maker of things. She has become the go-to candle maker for the maker community! Wax & Wool candles are special. Each one is hand poured and made from 100 percent pure white soy wax with no dyes, phthalates, or paraffins. It’s poured into a reusable amber glass jar, lidded for preserving freshness. She uses cotton wicks for a wonderfully clean burn. This year’s holiday collection of scents is sure to go quickly. Kjerste recommends that you let the candle burn for at least two hours before extinguishing as this allows the wax to melt the entire way across the candle for a cleaner, more efficient burn.
The Holiday Scents:
Christmas Market: This unique and addictive scent builds on a base of traditional holiday spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove, with enticing top notes of orange zest and a hint of roasting nuts. We love the wispy scent of wood smoke on a clear night that completes this scent.Tree Farm: Think ski slopes, alpine lodges, plenty of fresh air, and long-standing family traditions. We refuse to call this candle Christmas in the Northwest, but honestly that just about sums it up!Bayberry Garland: This scent is quintessential Wax & Wool - fresh, bright, and sophisticated. Cypress, Bay Laurel, and Fraser Fir create a strong core, with notes of bayberry, eucalyptus, and patchouli dancing around on top. They are $19.50 and you can stop by fibre space to smell them in person or buy them online here.
