Hot Weather Hacks

Surviving the hot weather in style can be a full-time job. As Realtors, we are constantly on the go. We run from client meetings to community events, and to and from homes. By the end of a summer day, it's hard not to look like a hot mess. Here are my go-to hacks to beat the heat.

Melt-Proof Makeup from Bellacara

SPF

Sunscreen is a must for every single day, even if it’s cloudy or rainy. Besides protecting my skin from harmful UV rays, I’m determined to prevent wrinkles and sun spots. It can sometimes be hard to find that perfect SPF that’s not too heavy or greasy. I’ve found that Supergoop! Daily Correct CC Cream glides on like a dream, never ruins my makeup routine, and keeps me burn-free all day.

Tan Towels

There’s something so satisfying about getting that sun-kissed look without damaging your skin. Tan Towels are a safe way to get that natural, bronzed glow, and these from Vita Liberata are great. The application is easy, odorless, and there’s no cleanup! No orange or streaky mess here! The glow develops evenly and quickly, making it the perfect go-to skin refresher all summer long.

Multi-Purpose Makeup

Sometimes I need a makeup refresh during the day, but I don’t want to lug around a huge cosmetic bag. RMS Beauty Luminizer X Quad is the perfect solution because I can suddenly have a highlighter, eyeshadow, and lip gloss all in one. The colors give off a great shine that makes my skin look dewy, not drenched.

Flats

Flats were made for Old Town cobblestones, especially when they can get slippery in the heat and humidity. Anything Veronica Beard from The Shoe Hive is my sole savior. These are perfect because their breezy design puts a new spin on the classic pointy-toe loafer. They’re comfortable and the quality is incredible.

Cool Wrap Dresses

I love the effortless look of a wrap dress. They’re a perfect, light piece that can easily be taken from day to night. I am loving the Blaire Dress from Periwinkle, this Apiece Apart bright wrap from TSALT, and any Gretchen Scott wrap dress at Kiskadee. They are definitely my summer wardrobe staple![nemus_slider id="60780"]

Iced Coffee

In the summer I still like to get my caffeine fix with a cool twist, so I swing by Misha’s Coffee for an iced coffee or latte. Misha’s is the quintessential neighborhood coffee shop were the baristas know their customers by name. The best part is they roast their own beans in-house and buy pastries from local bakeries daily. Be sure to check them out at their new King Street location!

Notepad

We’re not the only things overheating in this hot weather. Our phones and tablets are also burning up. I like to take tech breaks, so I always keep a good old fashion notebook on me. I love grabbing pen and paper when I am with clients. Writing things down helps me remember contact information and daily tasks; I love jotting down quick ideas and revisiting them later. Ditch the keyboard and pick up a pen with these cute options from Penny Post.
