How To Be a Good Host During the Holidays

The holiday season is upon us. That means parties and drinks and food we probably shouldn’t eat…but will in the end…but we won’t go crazy because we’ve learned from Adrien how not to. It also means guests. It means being a good host or hostess and making people feel welcome.I like to think I’m a pretty good hostess. I’ve outfitted my guest bedroom with a mini refrigerator in the closet (which I stock with water, sodas, and some small snacks), a Keurig and coffee pods, fluffy towels, and, of course, some really good toiletries. But recently I spent some time at a friend’s house and I realized that I hadn’t thought of everything. I was missing some items and I really could have used them, but no one wants to ask to borrow things when they’re already staying at your house. So, this is a small checklist of items that will take you from a good hostess to hostess extraordinaire.Of course, I can’t help you with all of these items at Bellacara. I can handle the travel toiletries and the sleep spray and eye mask. If you want to be super fancy and take this to the next level, you can provide a silk pillowcase.  I’ve got you covered on that, too. I always provide one and it is always appreciated and commented upon. But the most important thing to remember is to spend a night in your own guest room. Once you do, you’ll realize what the room is missing and how you can make it a retreat for your guests.Happy Holidays!!!
