Introducing: The One
Picture this: you have an heirloom diamond that has been passed onto you, but you already have an engagement ring. Or maybe you traveled to Sri Lanka ten years ago and bought a gorgeous sapphire that has been sitting loose in your jewelry box since you returned. Or perhaps your Great Aunt Rose bequeathed to you her citrine brooch but... you aren't exactly a brooch person. What can you do with these gemstones?
These are common questions we get here at Alx&Co. and it can be surprisingly difficult to create a unique design for a single gemstone. Most often, the parameters look something like this:
I would like something for daily wear - so not too fragile
I have only one gem - so no earrings
I don't want to add any other diamonds - too flashy!
I want something more unique than just a bezel-set pendant
I would love to stack this with other rings
Because we love solving problems through design, we decided to come up with a collection that would specifically address these types of requests. Enter: The One, our newest customizable collection here at Alx&Co.
The One is designed with a unique demi-bezel style setting that is accented by simple prongs. The design can accommodate a wide range of shapes and cuts and - best of all - it looks amazing stacked with other rings. This gives you the greatest versatility with your design because you could opt to wear your solitaire diamond on more basic days, but you could easily dress it up with your colorful citrine or peridot on days you're feeling extra.
The One can be created as rings (shown), as a pendant, as stud earrings, or even as a custom bangle. We decided to show the collection as rings for our samples since they stack so nicely with each other, but don't feel limited by this. The design is all about the demi-bezel and can be done in your choice of material.
