NFL Draft Fashion: Ranking the Best and Boldest Looks
The only way to lure me to watch the NFL Draft is to tell me about all the fashion. Extremely talented and fit male athletes in an array of fashion – from designer tuxes and studded crocs, to shorts and a polo shirt. It’s definitely all over the place. I had some sure favorites and looks I would have rethought. But as a whole, you could tell who had pieces that were really selected and tailored for their body shape, which is something that anyone can do to look more sharp in whatever they are wearing!
So let’s go with the good first:
Travis Hunter and his hot pink jacket!
This was such a cool look, and the color being so hype just really matched his confidence and energy. I loved the extra strap and button detail, and the black shirt peaking out the sleeves of his jacket. It all fit well and was a great look.
I love an ensemble that is all the same color or different shades of the same color, and this looked so put together with the shirt matching exactly. Tone on tone has definitely been having a moment, and this was maybe the way I have ever seen a man wear it in formal attire!
Ashton Jeanty had a cool embroidered tux that had such a cool after dinner jacket vibe to it, but also fit him so nicely.
It had an untraditional style to it, that showed a cool personal style vibe. Eggplant and chocolate have been having a moment, and this played so well on screen. Demerits from me for wearing Crocs though…I have opinions about Crocs.
Other honorable mentions: Maxwell Hairston whose cute dog, family and career were on the lining! Tyler Booker’s chocolate velvet jacket. Jihaad Campbell whose suit jacket was tailored perfectly!
The Misses:
Mason Graham I think forgot to try on a suit prior to the draft, and then found one that fit him last season. I mean we all know how that goes…Rule of thumb, you need to be able to button the buttons and move your arms.
Abdul Carter’s leather duster looked like a leather onesie onscreen and I just wasn’t there for it.
Will Campbell just had the wrong cut suit with a pattern that didn’t flatter his shape. It all drew attention to the wrong area. While I admire him trying something different, it just didn’t go the distance for me.
Cam Ward just bored us with the standard uniform my Dad would wear for nice dinners on vacation – a beige or linen suit with a white tee. We wanted more.
What were some of your favorite NFL Draft looks?
