Kick Off Your Summer After Hours!
Planning that perfect summer cocktail can be tough if you don't have the knowledge or the materials to do it confidently. Personally, I am especially in the dark when it comes to understanding that quintessential summer-vibe alcohol, rum. My first connotations of rum bring me back to freshman year of college when rum-based "jungle juice" was the cocktail served at parties, and let's just say, those palate memories are best left in the past...
If you're like me, you're in luck: I am pleased to announce that this Friday, we are hosting our next After Hours event. It will focus on exploring the background and uses of Brugal Rum's top tasting experiences, leaving you with a firm grasp on how to employ these varied profiles in the perfect summer cocktail. Better still, we're hosting a mini pop-up with our friends at MANSE, the new hidden-gem homewares shop in Old Town. We'll be mixing and serving using special barware from MANSE, and attendees will have the opportunity to shop specialty mixers and other materials from MANSE at our store!
Our After Hours Events were created to share the intimate knowledge of specialty craft with a wider audience. Like us, Brugal Rum and MANSE focus on small-scale, hands-on production that encourages an appreciation for the subtle details of quality craftsmanship. You'll have the opportunity to explore the intricacies of some of the finest rum options around with a discussion led by James D'Arcy of The Edrington Group, you'll learn about utilizing barware options from Andy Coon of MANSE, and you'll be able to ask questions about our own production techniques here at Alx&Co. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit our shop even if you don't have a specific project in mind. We would love to meet you.
