Let’s Play with Flowers This Summer!

Summer is officially here, and we’re celebrating the best way we know how—surrounded by flowers (and maybe a little rosé). If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at floral design or just need a fun excuse to get out of the house, our summer workshop series at Helen Olivia Flowers is the perfect plan.

We’re hosting floral design workshops all summer long at our studio, and they’re the most fun way to spend an evening. We teach you the basics of creating a lush, garden-style arrangement (our signature look!), and you get to take home something gorgeous you made yourself. No experience necessary—we promise. We’ll walk you through every step.

Each class includes premium blooms, tools, a vase, and all the materials you need. Plus, we’ll have wine and light snacks because, let’s be honest, flowers are even more fun with a drink in hand.

Something Tropical

The best substitute for a tropical getaway, this design will be full of brightly colored, funky blooms that feel just like vacation.

Ultra vibrant color for the ultra hot summer sun. Come create a powerfully purple arrangement in our classic, low and lush style.

Summer in Sonoma

Escape to wine country without leaving the city! Featuring lots of lush, textural greens and soft accenting blooms this design is reminiscent of a stroll through the vineyards.

And if you’re more of a homebody—or just want something a little more personal—we also offer private workshops during the summer months while the studio slows down. We can host you and your group at our studio, or we’ll bring the party to you. These are perfect for birthdays, bridal showers, girls’ nights, or even a team-building activity that doesn’t feel like team building.

Rachel Gang is the owner of Helen Olivia Flowers, a boutique flower and home décor shop, located in Del Ray, Alexandria. She developed her love for flowers while working as an event planner in the busy Washington, D.C. events industry. Along with her husband and team of designers at Helen Olivia, Rachel works with brides and corporate clients to create unique and captivating designs. Her work has been featured in Traditional Home Magazine, HGTV, Borrowed and Blue, and Style Me Pretty.

Helen Olivia is a boutique floral design studio located in the Del Ray neighborhood. Known for a lush and timeless style, the shop is a favorite among locals.
