Looking Forward To Fall
School is back in session, pools are closing, and pumpkin spice is back on the coffee menu. As summer is coming to an end, our Stylebook Contributors are ready for fall! Here’s what we are looking forward to in this new season.
Amy Rutherford | Red Barn Mercantile & Penny Post
I'm looking forward to our first parents' weekend this fall. The fact that it's in Vermont with all the beautiful fall foliage makes it all the more sweeter.
Celeste Crutchfield | Kiskadee
I'm looking forward to the decorations. Fall is my favorite time of year to decorate and I particularly love Halloween. I have a sugar skull collection that dons my mantle every October.
Elizabeth Todd | The Hive & The Shoe Hive
So many things make me excited for fall. I love college football, the cooler temperatures, sitting at my kids baseball and softball games, and of course, having my kids back in school. But what really gets me excited is blazers. Long, short, tweed to houndstooth, there isn’t a style or brand I don’t like. But, my favorite is Smythe.
Alex Deringer and Courtney Cox | Ivy Lane Living
We are so excited for our Fall “Capture Color” art show! These pieces show a wide range of styles and mediums and are a snapshot of what we have available now. We are looking forward to showcasing pieces from our existing artists as well as new ones to The Lane! Stay tuned!
Lauren Sadlon | NEAT Method of Northern Virginia
I'm excited about the new Acacia Hangers that the NEAT Method product team will be launching! They are modern and unlike anything in the marketplace. I love them because they are slimmer than your typical wooden hanger and could be used as an everyday hanger (even in a woman's closet!)
Adrien Cotton | Alexandria Wellness
Fall is my favorite time of year. I look forward to the beautiful days for fun runs and long walks with friends. For our Alexandria Wellness and Corporate Wellness Communities, we look forward to several exciting events to help lead us to grow in our personal definition of wellness. We plan to focus this fall on the journey of overcoming worry and "fret".
Joanna Szczerban | Boxwood
This fall, I am looking forward to Columbus Day Weekend! It is this long weekend in October my family and I spend exploring the country side of Virginia, either driving the Skyline Drive, hiking in the mountains, touring the sights of Harpers Ferry, or pitching a tent alongside the Shenandoah River. The weather feels so clean and brisk, but the scenery is what always takes my breath away.
Maura Burchette | Monday’s Child
This Libra cherishes the fall. Sweaters and boots for cooler days walking around Old Town, the weather can’t be beat for me. We have a busy September at the store with Heirloom portraits, a Pineapple Sunshine Trunk Show, and Silhouette portraits, and we’re very excited to celebrate a 3rd Birthday on October 2 with The Beaufort Bonnet Company Sip and See - bubbles/raffles/gifts with purchase! The next month is packed with tons of cute clothes and lots of fun events. And a new pair of Loeffler Randall boots from Bishop Boutique for my birthday ;)
Alicia Mccaslin | The Tulle Box
What’s not to love about October?! The weather is bright and the mood is right! We'll be celebrating our 22nd anniversary on October 2nd and the destination is Charlottesville! One of my clients shared a recent vineyard experience, so I booked our reservations - Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard!
Elizabeth Mandros | Mystique Jewelers
This fall, we are excited about wedding planning! Come find fresh new jewel ideas at Mystique Jewelers. Make your appointment today in Old Town, Alexandria.

Every fall brings the Jewish New Year! It is my favorite time of year - it means family time, a chance to reflect, and an opportunity to start fresh. It is a tradition to have apples and honey for a sweet year ahead. After this year and a half, we could all use a little restart.
