Looks We Love & One We Don't

Many of our clients have been spending their days trying to figure out their hair and what to do with it in between salon visits. It may sound crazy, but you are not alone and just because we've all been at home more than usual, we still want our hair to look flawless, effortless, and camera (or at least web camera) ready. There are many trends that have been popping up online lately... some absolutely stunning and some that fizzle and fade. Today we have a few of our favorites and one of our least favorite trends with spring right around the corner. One of our favorites at Bazzak right now are hair accessories! This may seem like a blast from the 90s, but lately they have been the ultimate go-to and can be a lifesaver when you're having a bad hair day. Hair accessories can also be a great alternative to picking up a heat tool when you want a more low maintenance style. They can be found at many retailers and range from subtle glam to fierce alter ego fun. We don't know how long the fun will last, but we're going to enjoy it while it does!   Our second favorite is "heatless" beach waves, which can be achieved by simply braiding semi-damp hair at night, sleeping in your braids, and then taking them out in the morning. This creates an effortless wavy look and will have your hair feeling so healthy over time. This doesn't have to be an everyday thing but can definitely help in a crunch or when you have an early morning Zoom meeting.  Another favorite is highlights that have naturally turned into an ombré/balayage look due to natural hair growth. We love our sun-kissed blondes and brunettes, but lately, more women have wanted to tone down their blonde with lowlights and add just a pop of color in the front, which creates a "reversed highlight" effect. This look is fun, sexy and can really make a statement when enhanced with a gloss treatment.  On our "Don't" list for this coming spring season is the good old "business in the front party in the back." Yes, you did read that correctly, but lately, more and more celebrities will pop up with the classic mullet haircut. Now, this may be a good look for some, but it definitely should be discussed with your stylist before committing to it.Now that we have discussed all of our favorite trends for the year and one not so fav, we will leave you with one final recommendation. We are big on healthy hair at Bazzak and a lot of our clients have asked what to do with their hair when they go to bed. We've found that a silk pillowcase can be a great investment. They can protect hair from breakage that can be more common with cotton pillowcases and can also help keep a style intact - you can find the Slip pillowcase at Bellacara. Until next time, stay safe and treat your hair with love!
