Get to Know Makeup Artist Celthia from Bellacara
by Celthia Corsino
My name is Celthia Corsino. I've been with Bellacara for almost four years. Some of you might know me from doing your makeup or giving professional advice on beauty. I love Bellacara and Old Town Alexandria and it's been wonderful being a part of Angela's team and the Bellacara family!I've been in the beauty industry for over 20 years. Prior to being an independent freelance makeup artist in the DMV, I worked as a business manager for Nordstrom stores: Pentagon, Tysons Corner, and Montgomery; I was a MAC girl in the ‘90s (when MAC Cosmetics was very exclusive and privately owned) and opened the first D.C. MAC store in Georgetown as the assistant manager. I then moved to luxury high-end retail and worked at Neiman Marcus Tysons Galleria for 13 years, where I launched exclusive cosmetic lines such as Shu Uemura and Le Metier de Beaute. Outside of Neiman Marcus, I did makeup for Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan's NBC show.

I decided to become an independent contractor in 2015 and it's been an exciting ride ever since! I did makeup at New York Fashion Week, joined the Karma By Erwin Gomez team, providing makeup services in salon and on location for weddings and various events in Washington D.C., such as the Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards, White House Correspondents' Dinner, Inauguration, Fortune the Most Powerful Women Summit, UNITE Global Session in San Diego, the Annual Rene Moawad Foundation Gala, Toast in Potomac and many others. I also did a beauty segment on FOX5 Good Day DC for Karma. I am the senior makeup artist for DC Elite Image and SBGI Consulting, both beauty consulting agencies. Some of my clients and experience include NBC4 Washington, WJLA Good Morning Washington, WUSA9, NBCUniversal, ABC News, PBS, EWTN, Capital Bridal Affair, Serve the Willing Warriors, Compass, Audi of America, Volkswagen of America, Navient, Tuckernuck, The Knot, Elegance by Roya, Miss Babs, Bikram Yoga Alliance, OSSMA Magazine, CHOVAIN Magazine, HORIZONT Magazine, VIP Alexandria, The Scout Guide Alexandria, DC Modern Luxury DC Magazine, The Warner Theater, and The Kennedy Center. My makeup background also includes Trish McEvoy, Kevyn Aucoin, Tom Ford, Charlotte Tilbury, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Armani, YSL, and Amore Pacific. Up until the pandemic, I was the Patchology Market Coordinator for the D.C. Metro area, training, selling, and supporting accounts in all Nordstrom stores, both Neiman Marcus stores, Saks Tysons, as well as a couple of small businesses in Virginia. Not to mention driving my own business, Makeup By Celthia! Yes, it sounds like a lot, I know. But I loved it!Things definitely slowed down for the beauty industry during the pandemic. So, I used the opportunity to invest in multiple beauty webinars to learn the current trends, techniques, and sanitation policies, as well as brush up on color theory, the various styles of makeup applications, tools, and products to help refine my craft.Today, I am very grateful to work at my favorite store, Bellacara. I'm proud to share that in the past year I launched my website, my work was published in three international fashion magazines as well as local magazines and websites; I was featured in Alexandria Stylebook and have worked with several high-profile clients for both local and national news. You can find me at Bellacara every Thursday for your beauty needs. Please come by and say hello - I would love to meet you!
