Meet Mak
We're incredibly excited to welcome Makda Kibour, simply known as Mak, to the Bazzak team! Some of you may already know Mak as she is the former owner and artistic director of Mak’s Place, an Aveda lifestyle salon in Old Town, which she opened in 1994. Mak was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and has resided in Northern Virginia for more than 25 years.Mak considers herself lucky to have found a profession that allows her to have fun and be creative. It's important to her that clients feel comfortable and confident throughout their salon visits, and she always starts with a thorough consultation as part of any appointment. Her artistic hair creations have been recognized by Aveda on more than five occasions and she has received Best of Alexandria and Talk of the Town awards. She can customize your color, cut, and style to suit your lifestyle and desired aesthetic. It's her passion to provide a service that is both artistic and practical. In addition to being a long-time salon owner, Mak is also an accomplished artist and began painting at Old Town's Turtle Art Studio in 1996. Due to her love for painting, you might guess that the Torpedo Factory and The Art League are two of her favorite places in Old Town and you would be right! She also loves Old Town as a neighborhood and the entire waterfront area.Click the sites below to learn more about Mak's artwork and we hope you say hi to her next time you're at the salon![fancy_divider style="" color_top="" color_bottom=""]
