No Makeup Look… No Thank You
One of my mantras for the past twenty years has been less is more when it comes to makeup. Enhancing one’s natural beauty without masking it has always been our credo at Bellacara. As a general rule, I still believe that… but I’m just so bored of it right now! These masks have meant that I never get to see your faces anymore. Most of the day, I don’t even see my own face since I’m in store wearing a mask. When I catch my reflection, I just feel sad.I miss seeing a rosy-hued cheek or a well-placed highlighter. Even more than ever, I wish I saw red lips staring back at me. Add to that the general gloom of the weather, and I just feel like breaking the rules. The makeup rules I’ve generally set. Clean, fresh skin with just enough color to enhance the cheeks and eyes. But now all I can see are my eyes, so now I want to have some fun. It’s been a year!!!I know I’ve crested over the hill, but eyeshadows and liners that I would never have touched pre-Covid are suddenly the ones I’m pulling out. Yes, to emerald green eyeshadow; yes to bright blue eyeliner; yes to orchid toned purple; yes to all of it… I’m here for it. I want to see something bright and fun staring back at me. Thanks to Laura Mercier, I am doing just that.Laura Mercier caviar sticks come in so many fun colors that I have never tried before. They afford the faint of heart a way to ease into brighter colors because they can be drawn on and smudged out to a fainter shade. On days when you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you can leave the color on a bit brighter.Lately, I’m loving the following shades. If you need a little boost of fun, give one of these a try. I promise they won’t be boring.
Indigo
Violet
Turquoise
Sienna
