One Love Organics…Not Just for Hippies

Okay, maybe “hippies” is the wrong word, but it seems like there is still a divide in the cosmetics world between chemical believers and natural-or-bust customers. Over the past 18 years, I have tried many a “natural” product and other than a few Dr. Haushka and Weleda products, most were wildly disappointing. It really doesn’t matter to me if it’s natural, if it doesn’t work I’m not interested. Yeah…I’m talking to you, natural deodorants! One of my good friends, Danielle, has been asking for more organic products for the “hippie dippies” like her. She calls herself that because she is always looking at the ingredients and would love to be able to not only pronounce but know exactly what the ingredients are in her products. The truth is that most of us are becoming more aware of the fact that our skin is our largest organ and that what we put on it matters. You don’t have to be a hippie to be concerned with that. While many of us recognize that most chemicals can’t make it to the deepest layers of our tissue much less our bloodstream, there are so many unknowns that, when possible, we like to err on the side of caution. So when a product line comes along that promises efficacy and an ingredient list that even the hippiest of hippies would love, I take notice. That product line is One Love Organics. According to Elizabeth Dehn, a collaborator on One Love Organics, “We are really proud of our waterless formulas. So many products contain cheap fillers that do nothing for the skin. We only use active ingredients that add value and efficacy. Customers can’t live without our Vitamin B Cleansing Oil and Vitamin C Brightening Facial Serum for a reason: they really do change your skin. I’m so proud of our mission at One Love. We believe in the power of the beauty ritual to renew, relax, and transform. We trust in the healing power of plants, and we embrace the simplicity and the knowledge that you can achieve more with less — in skincare and in life!”The first time I smelled the Vitamin C Body Polish I knew I had smelled the scent before. I could not put my finger on it and then it hit me: it smelled like a chewable vitamin C. I couldn’t get over it. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Everything in these products is natural. If it says vitamin C on it, you are going to smell vitamin C. It was actually a nostalgic smell as I haven’t chewed one of those pills since I hit double digits. It made me smile in a way that only happy childhood memories can you make you smile. But you all know, in order to really win me over the products have to perform…and they do. I love them all and I’m sure whether you are a self-professed “hippie dippie” or a “chemical countess” you’ll want to add one or two of these fabulous products into your regimen.
