Our Favorite Makeup Products Just In Time For The Anniversary Party
This Saturday, Bellacara is turning 22! We are so thrilled to host this important milestone and hope to see you all there. As we stated in last week’s article, we strongly encourage stopping by to put your list together before the Anniversary Party, especially if you plan to buy makeup! On the day of the party, we will not be offering any color matching services for foundation/concealer or assistance picking out colors for items such as blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick. Because of this long-standing policy, I decided to put together a list of our favorite makeup products to provide some guidance while pre-shopping.
Blush
I have equal love for both cream blush and powder blush. When I do a full face that I need to last all day or night, I do a powder blush. For a fresher and more natural look, I will reach for a cream blush.
My favorite cream blush is by Westman Atelier. Since I have warm undertones, I like to mix Minette, a luminous peach, with Bichette, a red berry with warm undertones. This mixture gives me the most natural-looking terracotta with a subtle glow. ($50)
For a powder blush that packs a punch, I love Surratt Beauty’s Brillante Idee. It is a moderately warm-toned, dark coral, and all their blushes have a beautiful satin finish. ($32)
Eyeshadow
Hands down, the Caviar Sticks from Laura Mercier are my favorite eyeshadows of all time. They last all day, are crease-resistant, and are easily blendable, as long as you blend them as you apply them. They can be sheer or solid - depending on how you blend them - so they are perfect for day or night. Available in matte, shimmer, and glitter shades. ($29)
Lipstick
The same rule for blush applies to lipsticks. If I am doing a more natural look, I love Kari Gran’s Lip Whip in color Jeannie. ($24)
For a lipstick with real staying power, I love Westman Atelier’s Lip Suede Lipstick Palette in Les Rouges, which features fuchsia, deep brick red, tomato red, and warm dusty rose. I combine deep brick and tomato red for my perfect shade of red. ($85)
Foundation & Concealer
Finally, I want to talk about foundations and concealers. I have tried many foundations and concealers from Bellacara (and beyond), and I am confident we have the perfect foundation and concealer for you. For a more natural look, I love Kevyn Aucoin’s Stripped Nude Skin Tint. It has a sheer to light coverage finish infused with skincare benefits that blur imperfections. ($42)
When I need more coverage that will last, I love Laura Mercier’s Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation. This oil-free formula is lightweight but provides medium to full coverage. This wonder foundation never cakes or looks flat, and I love that it stays up to 15-hours without smudging. ($49)
For concealer, I love Kevyn Aucoin’s The Etherealist Super Natural Concelear. This weightless formula corrects, highlights, and perfects. It is not cakey and goes on beautifully smooth. ($30)
I know this was a lot, but I hope this lineup of products helps you pre-shop successfully and find all the great items you need. We hope to see you Saturday!
