Pine Cone Hill and Dash & Albert Trunk Show

I know the school year just ended, and it seems crazy to be talking about decorating a dorm room, but I remember how excited I was to get all the things I needed that we figured why not get started now. It was so much fun planning for my new - and newly adult - space. Figuring out what I was going to need, shopping with my mom for just the right supplies, and dreaming up how my life at college was going to look. Anticipation and anxiety intertwined, and planning my room helped me to cope.

To help you and your college student plan (and cope), we are hosting a Pine Cone Hill and Dash & Albert trunk show June 24 to 26.   Design the dorm room of your child’s dreams with cozy bedding (their twin sheets fit a dorm’s XL twin beds!), rugs for the cold tile floors, towels and robes for the communal bathrooms, and decorative pillows as the cherry on top. Of course, if you don’t have a kid going to college and just need a little refresh of your own, then this is a great opportunity for you too. Our team will be available to help all weekend, and Kevin, our wonderful rep, will be in the store on June 25 from 11am to 5pm for additional support in helping you fulfill your dorm - or decorating - dreams.

Owner Amy Rutherford started Red Barn because she wanted to deliver a service — to provide both old and new in one place. No longer will busy shoppers be limited to reproductions or forced to shop multiple flea markets for the look or gifts they want. The trick in blending old and new, vintage and modern, classic and quirky, is balance. And Amy’s knack for mixing rustic antiques with urban chic has created a look that is both fresh and familiar.

Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, Penny Post is an independent boutique specializing in custom stationery and wedding invitations. Inspired by the art of personal correspondence, the power of handwritten notes, and the smell of freshly printed stationery, we surround ourselves with quirky, hilarious, and classically beautiful things to make life a little brighter.
