Place Your Bets: Big Sales At The Hives

When my friend, Betsey Fisher, had her seasonal sales at her store in Georgetown, she would call them "the Gamblers Sales." She told everyone when she was going to do new markdowns as the sale progressed. If you wanted to wait to see if the item you wanted was still there when the biggest discount happened, then you would have the information right in front of you. Knowledge is power, as the saying goes, and some of us have higher risk tolerance than others. Maybe it is a beautiful Arch4 sweater that you want, but don’t need, but if the price is right, you would take it. I get it, I am a gambler. I would wait.

I decided I would do that at the Hives this year. I’ll let everyone know when the biggest discounts would occur, so if you want to double down on your bet, you can! The first markdown happens this Friday to half-off sale items and we might even add a few extra things to the sale as well. Then, in two weeks, on January 20, all sale items will be marked 60 percent-off. The Walkable Warehouse sale is February 7, but we will have our items marked by February 6. If you subscribe to our regular emails, we might even do a preview sale the night before!

I know some folks think that sale merchandise is already picked over, but I promise there are always great items at both stores, even for the Walkable Warehouse Sale. The great stuff is on the racks and shelves, the discounts are certain – the only thing in question is how much of a gamble you want to take to get it at a price you will love. We’ve never brought in more great stuff than we did in 2022, so this will be our widest sale selection ever. Come check it out and make your bet!
