Every new season brings with it a new trend. This summer, it’s all about the backyard flower workshops. We’ve been taking our show on the road and have been celebrating all the things -birthdays, showers, and graduations - with you. 

 

One of our favorite private workshops of the season was too beautiful not to share. Our lovely host brought color into her backyard with beautiful coral and green linens - a perfect accent to an already lush garden backdrop. Guests sipped rose and watermelon margarita (or two… or three) during class. To keep things easy and casual, dinner was pizza from a favorite neighborhood spot. 

 

The flowers were a beautiful mix of peonies, ranunculus, roses, and viburnum. Our birthday girl loved “happy flowers” so, we went with a vibrant mix.  Each of the fifteen guests made their own arrangement, which doubled as a pretty party favor.

Rachel Gang is the owner of Helen Olivia Flowers, a boutique flower and home décor shop, located in Del Ray, Alexandria. She developed her love for flowers while working as an event planner in the busy Washington, D.C. events industry. Along with her husband and team of designers at Helen Olivia, Rachel works with brides and corporate clients to create unique and captivating designs. Helen Olivia is owned by Chuck and Rachel Gang who are veterans of the bustling Washington, D.C., events industry. Both are D.C. natives, and reside in the Ft Hunt neighborhood of Alexandria with their son Jack.
