Heirloom Photography: The Art of Capturing Timeless Children’s Portraits

Since our inaugural Heirloom Portrait session at Monday’s Child in 2020, the tradition of capturing timeless children’s portraits has evolved into a cherished event. With a special place in my heart for children, I love creating these timeless images. Heirloom Portraits are photographs you will hand down to your future generations. They capture the true beauty and spirit of a person…of a child…of a moment paused in time. Each Heirloom Portrait is printed on fine art paper and hand-signed. I love to see our signature Heirloom Portraits adorn our clients’ homes, a lasting chronicle of childhood, a testament to enduring love.

Monday’s Child opened in Alexandria in 1980 with the slogan “beautiful clothing for precious children.” Maura Burchette purchased the Old Town gem in 2018 and has shared how honored she feels to carry on its tradition, legacy, and the happiness it brings to our community. She also just moved into a beautiful new space at 127 South Fairfax Street. If you haven’t stepped inside yet, give your eyes this treat.

Maura and I have often discussed the brief window of time you have to dress your children. The Heirloom Portraits capture these moments forever. The twinkling eyes, sweet smiles and even mischievous grins can be cherished for generations. Nothing makes her happier than helping select the perfect pieces for these sessions and any other special occasions in their lives.

We are honored to play a small part in celebrating the magic of childhood and preserve these fleeting moments.

Reserve a session for our Heirloom Portraits on Saturday, November 16. We can’t wait to see you!
