Restaurant Report: Toastique

Walking down King Street and looking for a go-to breakfast? Leaving barre and need some post-workout fuel? Boutique gourmet toast and juice bar Toastique has you covered! It is now officially open at its new location at 1605 King Street.Their menu goes far beyond the typical avocado toast. Not only are their toast and juice choices delicious, they are equally as beautiful. All toasts are creatively plated on wooden cutting boards. We tried the Avocado Smash, 3 Cheese Italian and PB Crunch. We honestly loved them all and couldn’t choose a favorite. The many juice options, including Balance and Detoxify, are delicious combinations of agave, lemon, coconut water, and even activated charcoal. The colorful bowls include DragonBerry and “OG Acai,” which includes all of the favorites from granola, banana, blueberries, and honey.Toastique’s origin stemmed from the toasts that founder Brianna Keefe would make in college. Keefe was a Division 1 athlete and developed specialty toasts from the original avocado toast, creating balanced meals of carbs, vegetables, fats, and proteins to boost energy. Now her menu includes a selection of toasts piled with toppings, cold pressed juices, smoothies, and bowls. Ingredients are locally sourced and seasonal.Hours are 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday, Sunday 8am-5pm. For more information, visit their website
