Rodin Olio Lusso Now at Bellacara
For years I’d read about Rodin Olio Lusso oils. They have a cult following and I’ve had a pretty serious girl crush on the creator Linda Rodin for years now. A former model and fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar in the 70s, her iconic bold lip, upswept grey hair and large glasses make her instantly recognizable. She definitely has that look that makes me say, “I want to be her when I grow up.” When I was finally offered the opportunity to bring on the line, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. As most of you know, I’m a big fan of facial oils. I prefer them to most cream moisturizers as they penetrate more deeply and can provide more instant gratification. Her oils are constantly written up in magazines for their amazing hydrating properties. Customer reviews frequently site the texture as “hydrating without feeling oily.” Others comment on how long-lasting each bottle is and claim a single bottle will last you six months. My own experience was a bottle I bought at Bergdorf Goodman years ago. I used every…last…drop. That’s a big deal when you have a box full of product waiting for your evaluation at home. For a woman who cares monumentally about skin care, she doesn’t wear much makeup, if any. The one item she doesn’t leave home without? Lipstick. As an ardent lipstick fan she asked herself, why am I wearing someone else’s brand? She couldn’t find a face oil she loved so she made them herself, why shouldn’t she do the same with her other love…lipstick? The result was a creamy lipstick infused with her signature jasmine and neroli oils. Available in five shades and each one looks good on every skin tone. I want each and every one. The only problem? She just launched a lip and cheek oil that is so good…I want all those too.
