Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend

It is the most wonderful time of year in Alexandria! It is no secret that the holidays in Alexandria are a special time of year, even Southern Living Magazine has crowned Alexandria “the perfect southern town for a Hallmark Christmas Movie.” There is just something magical that happens when the trees down King Street light up and the storefronts are decked out in plaid. With Alexandria’s biggest holiday weekend right around the corner - the 49th Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend and Parade - we wanted to share with you what this weekend is all about. It is more than just a parade featuring Scottish clans and Scottie dogs; it is a weekend planned by, orchestrated by, and benefiting The Campagna Center. They are truly the reason for the season.Since 1945, The Campagna Center has served the Alexandria community with comprehensive programs that equip young children with crucial skills, place school-age children on a path to becoming productive adults, and support and empower families. The Campagna Center serves over 2,000 children and families every day through one of their four programs: Early Childhood, Elementary Level, Middle and High School, and Adults. Every day they meet their mission to deliver exceptional educational and social development programs for children, teens, and adults. Each year, The Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend and Parade raises over $300,000 in much needed funds. So, while you are enjoying the festivities, we also encourage you to give back and luckily, there are plenty of fun and easy opportunities all weekend:
