Semi-annual Upholstery Sale is Here!
I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before, but I actually love January. The month brings with it all the hope and promise of a new year, a new beginning. This year January takes on a whole new meaning. With 2020 in our rearview mirror (thank goodness!) and a vaccine as well as an end to the pandemic in sight, we have lots of reasons for looking forward to a brand new year. A fresh start is definitely in order! For some of you that might mean something as large as a new job or new city (Welcome Biden administration), or something as small as a new pair of running shoes (Me! Thanks, Pacers). For us at Red Barn Mercantile, the new year starts with our semi-annual upholstery sale. What a wonderful way to start the year than with a new room makeover. Are you finally getting to that owner’s bedroom? And, why is this the room we always do last?! Or possibly the family room needs a makeover after the kids have been home for a year? They can do so much damage in so little time!If you’re ready to start this year off fresh, then we have just the answer for you – our semi-annual Upholstery Sale! Starting February 1 - March 14, you can take an additional 10 percent off our already below retail pricing. To get you inspired, I have asked our Design Collective to put together a design using the same three pieces. This is also an opportunity for you to see their talent on full display. I thought I would start by sharing how I would use these items in a room. First, here are the three items they will use: And here is the room I would create. Apparently, I was in a very preppy mood. I started with the lamp and nightstand combo because when it comes to preppy, navy blue and Kelly green is my favorite pairing. Then I needed a pattern to tie the two together. When I saw this Schumacher fabric, I knew it was perfect. I had seen it in the wild and it is simply marvelous. In this design I figured it would be window treatments that I imagined take up a lot of space in this room. I would also use it as a long bolster on the sofa. Now, they do make this in wallpaper, which I could totally get behind too. To keep the rest of the room simple, I stuck with solid fabrics (navy blue linen for the chairs and flax linen for the sofa) and a calming stripe in the rug. Mixing something organic with something graphic always works. Finally, I love bringing in the wood element to balance all the color.
