Serenity In September

September is always an exciting time in Old Town. The slower summer months have passed, and the events return! As the weather (hopefully) starts to cool down, our anticipation continues to grow for all of the fun and festive events to come in Alexandria!

Earlier this year, we celebrated some of our community's incredible women during a month-long March event, "Empowering Local Powerful Women." The event consisted of a weekly speaker series highlighting local change-making women, as well as a variety of talented makers in the shop and Under the Boxwood Tent. It was an absolutely amazing experience to showcase these remarkable women, and we are truly grateful to everyone who was able to participate.

We are so excited to announce a new series that will be kicking off in September! Join us for "Serenity in September" to celebrate National Recovery Month with Sam Kasten of Umbrella Dry Drinks and Martha Carucci, author of Sobrietease and Sobrietease 2: Make It a Double. We will be hosting various free events throughout September, including a speaker series, spirit-free tastings with Umbrella Dry Drinks, and an open forum for women in our community. In addition, at the end of the month, we will be hosting a sophisticated spirit-free celebration; sign up for our email newsletter for details, including how to register!

We are so honored to present our friend, Martha Carucci, as the moderator of our September speaker series. Martha is a popular speaker, panelist, and podcast guest discussing alcoholism, sobriety, recovery, and the power of choice. In addition, Martha's two books about her own sobriety journey, Sobrietease and Sobrietease 2: Make It a Double, were both the #1 New Releases on Amazon for Alcoholism and Recovery literature.

Join us throughout the month of September for these impactful discussions highlighting serenity through a spirit-free lifestyle:

Thursday, September 1 - Sam Kasten of Umbrella Dry Drinks, a concept to provide sophisticated non-alcoholic options for those who wish to stay dry.

Thursday, September 8 - Open Forum for women in the community who are sober, sober-curious, or interested in alternatives to alcohol.

Thursday, September 15 - The Mystic Chics, a family of female healers united in the use of energy and music medicine, mindful movement, and substance-free sacred ceremony.

Tuesday, September 20 - Highlighting local leaders in the food and beverage industry: Jon Schott of The People's Drug and King's Ransom and Maria Denton of Lyre's Spirit Co.

Thursday, September 29 - Ticketed event featuring Martha Carucci as the keynote speaker

Visit our website for more information, including dates and details for our events. We look forward to seeing you in September!
