Four Ways to Make the Most of Small Closet Space…While Dreaming of a Beautiful Walk-in

At Neat Method, we never miss a chance to organize and crush on big, beautiful walk-in closets.  But, the reality is, not every closet is that size and not every closet has enough room for what's stored inside. As organizers, our job is to get creative and implement solutions that will work for everyone and – every space. And believe me, we’ve seen it all.

Some may have a closet like this, or envision it for the future…

while others have much less space…and kids with the smallest closets and the most stuff!

Never fear, the closet and space expert is here!

Here are some tried-and-true tips for organizing small closets:

1. File Fold: When you file fold and line your clothing in rows you will be able to see everything you own. This also prevents wrinkles AND saves space.

2. Maximize Vertical Space: Add shelving, stack shoe boxes and use over-the-door shoe racks to maximize storage.

3. Bins + Baskets: Use bins to corral categories; don't overlook floor space as a way to add more storage.

4. Slimline: Make the switch to slimline hangers - you'll be shocked at how many more pieces of clothing can fit!
