Spring2ACTion 2020

This week has been officially declared the week of Virginia is for Restaurant Lovers Takeout Week. We are loving all of these takeout and curbside options from our favorite local eateries. We are even more overjoyed by the outpour of community support for these restaurants. So many of you have been ordering takeout, giving donations, and buying gift cards to our Alexandria restaurants and shops. These places are what make Alexandria special and unique. These and nonprofits are the soul of this strong community.That’s why we are also happy the annual Spring2ACTion has been moved up to April 15th. Now more than ever, our local nonprofits need our help. Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Giving Day, is the time Alexandrians come together, uplift one another, and support the organizations that serve our community in the best of times and during challenging times.Because of the current crisis, many organizations have cancelled fundraising events and programs that generate revenue. Classrooms and theaters are dark, and programs are cancelled in adherence of social distancing guidelines. Nonprofits are depleting their reserves to purchase emergency food and supplies for their constituents. The financial health of nonprofits is threatened at a time when our community needs them the most. Spring2ACTion is an indispensable platform for local nonprofits to engage the community and raise critical funds.  The Patterson Group is thrilled to combine our love of local nonprofits and eateries for this year’s Spring2ACTion. This year we will be partnering with Mia’s Italian Kitchen. If you haven’t checked out their amazing, brand-new takeout menu yet, we highly recommend it! On April 15th, they will be creating a special Spring2ACTion pizza. Two dollars from every one of those pizza orders will be donated to nonprofits, close to all of our hearts.Now is definitely a time to support locally owned businesses, restaurants, and nonprofits. They impact our entire community and overall happiness. Now is our moment to give them a little love and support back! We’re looking forward to all of the innovative ways, virtual activities, DIY projects, and digital connections that will help this year’s Spring2ACTion. We know if any community can do it, it’s this strong Alexandria one!
