There’s a moment every year when Old Town’s light turns softer, and the air feels like it’s holding its breath, right before the season tips into magic. That’s the moment we live for at Boxwood. It’s the quiet click from pumpkins to pine, from cinnamon to spruce, from “just browsing” to “oh my goodness, this is the one.” And then, in a blink, the doors open and it’s holiday.
This year, that moment arrives on Saturday, November 8, when we unveil our Holiday Reveal at Boxwood, a full, sparkling debut of the things we’ve been dreaming up and tucking away for months. As a little celebration, all Christmas treasures will be 15% off that day and paired with sweet gingerbread goodies.
We’re also thrilled to introduce Brittany Zimmerman, founder of Bleu Bee Design Studio and a true force in interiors. Known for blending Southern warmth with timeless style, Brittany transforms homes from Virginia to Florida with her signature mix of antiques, pattern, and personality. At 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, she’ll host table-styling demos, whimsical Gingerbread and Nutcracker themes, each one grounded in her belief that a home should tell your story, beautifully and authentically. Consider it your front-row tour of holiday hospitality, then step into the rest of the shop to see how the whole team has translated that spirit into every corner.

Behind the scenes, our team has been swapping shelves, sketching windows, unboxing ornaments, and tying the first ribbons—all with one goal: to make Boxwood feel like the brightest, most welcoming home for the holidays.

At the heart of Boxwood’s holiday magic is Mickey Sauls of SHOPmd—our window designer and visual storyteller since we opened in 2019. Every year, she transforms the store into something you don’t just shop—you feel. A good window makes you pause; Mickey’s make you gasp. She knows how light dances on glass, how velvet softens matte, how a single ornament can turn “pretty” into unforgettable. Her artistry is everywhere—from the rhythm of a tablescape to the way light dances on glass. She builds invitations, not displays—each one whispering, come closer, make it yours.
And speaking of joy…let’s talk about the gorgeous hand-blow glass ornaments by designer Jim Marvin. His ornaments have truly become the heartbeat of our holiday season at Boxwood. This year, we’re going all in, tripling the magic with three full Jim Marvin trees, each one with its own theme, personality, and palette. Think of them as chapters in the same story—related, yes—but each one delightfully distinct.
