Style Spotlight: The Community Behind Street Style
So, about last night. Stylebook partnered with Renée C. Gage Photography to host our very first annual celebration of the community behind Street Style! This series, a Stylebook and reader favorite, celebrates the fabulous people who make Alexandria feel like home. We love being able to share each person’s unique story and their sense of style, while also uplifting their contributions to our community. This year, we finally brought everybody together and it was pure magic! No awkward introductions (or name tags) required, familiar faces filled the room, and conversations flourished. As for the style…here are our favorite looks from the evening (and your checklist to plan spring fits):
Bright Joyful Colors
Pink may be the color of the year, but we are heads-over-heels for this accidental twinning moment of cheery turquoise and greens. Did anyone else remember having to fight their friends for a chance to use the cerulean crayon as a kid? It was a crowd favorite in the 90s and we still love it. Pair it with a pop of kelly green, like Britt’s green Rupert Sanderson’s and you have a winning look!
Statement Blacks
Move over little black dress, it’s time for statement-making black – soaring shoulders, balloon sleeves, and elegant cuts. Spring may be around the corner, but if we were to read the room, black is here to stay! And it’s not cute and little (though we’ll have plenty of time for that in summer). These pieces are big and bold, and we can’t get enough.
Shoes Sneakers + More
Of course, Elizabeth had on her favorite sneakers. (They’re on sale until Sunday!) But, we also saw some stunning Golden Goose, high-top Vejas, and fabulously chunky New Balances. The ladies of Patina had the accessories game on point with big shoes and a fabulous necklace scarf!
We are so grateful to everyone who helped us celebrate! And a special thank you to our vendors: @nepenthegallary, @helenoliviaflowers, @umbrelladrydrinks, and @mixedmacrons. We couldn’t have done it without you. 🖤
