Summer Vacation Beauty Essentials

You may not know this, but Michael and I love to travel. We've been together for over 27 years and make it a point to go somewhere at least twice a year. We’ve been everywhere from Cuba to Dubai! This year we were overdue for some much-needed rest and relaxation and finally made it back to our favorite beach in the Dominican Republic. Growing up with a dad in the Foreign Service, combined with all of our vacations, I've become a pro at shopping and packing! I know exactly what to pack and what to buy before you leave the airport and wanted to share my beauty packing list to help make it easier to pack for your summer trips:

Skincare

Going overboard on skincare during the summer is a good idea. We packed no less than three different types of sunscreen: Coola's Classic Organic Sunscreen with SPF 50 in guava mango, Coola's Scalp and Hair Mist SPF 30 since Michael keeps his head shaved, and Coola's Classic Frangress-Free Face SPF 50.

I always have a Cuticle Gel Pen in my bag because no one needs ashy cuticles ruining beautiful nails, especially during sandal season.

For summer trips, Huile Prodigieuse®'s Shimmer Dry Oil is an absolute must! A little shimmer brings out the summer tan and leaves skin feeling soft and nourished.

Haircare

These mini Oribe Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner are perfectly sized for travel! They smell amazing, plus the repair and restore formula helps combat heat and pool damage to keep hair glossy and shiny all summer long.

This year, I am loving SACHAJUAN's Ocean Mist Sea Salt Spray. It adds a little bit of texture and definition, so you can wear beachy waves all day long!

I also added a couple of Eloise London's Bangle Bands to my bag to have on hand in case the heat got to be too much.

Makeup

I try to keep it light and easy for vacations, which is a huge change from a few years ago when I'd carry almost all of my makeup with me wherever I went. Now I have my Westman Vital Foundation and Squeaky Clean Lip Balm in Raspberry, plus some brow gel, mascara, and eyeliner. I may be able to live without my makeup collection on vacation, but I will never go without my signature winged eyeliner. And, don’t forget Bioderma’s Cleansing Water to remove makeup.

This sounds like a lot, but all of it fit comfortably in my Kusshi bag. Having one bag that can hold everything is a lifesaver during travel!

Next time you’re in Bellacara tell us where you're headed - we love hearing about your travels!
