The Rolls Royce of Candles

Patina is delighted to share that we now carry Trudon.

The Cire Trudon story starts in 1643, in Paris, France, with Claude Trudon. Originally the owner of a grocery store, Trudon supplied his own candles in his store, and during the same year, began selling candles exclusively. Jacque Trudon, Claude’s son, followed in his father’s footsteps, and in 1687, was the official apothecary and distiller of Queen Marie-Thèrese at Versailles.

The company soon became known for their highly regarded candles, providing candles for well-known cathedrals and churches throughout the city, boasting both long-lasting burn time, and flames which didn’t smoke. Since 1737, Trudon has been the largest and most respected wax manufacture in France and their know-how has evolved through the years, always keeping its strong historic traditions and values.

The design of their candle vessel is inspired by a Champagne bucket from the 1930s and is made by a manufacturer in Vinci, Italy.

Trudon offers a wide range of products, including scented candles, room sprays, and decorative accessories. With a commitment to the art of gifting and exceptional customer care, Trudon truly provides a luxurious experience.

We can’t wait to introduce you to the world of Trudon and all it has to offer.

And a BIG thanks to everyone who came out for our Designer Tag Sale! It was a success and we were so happy to see so many people turn out for this event. We have some items from the sale which are available and you can find them on Patina’s website.

Patina Polished Living was created 10 years ago by friends Amanda Mertins and Kimberly Weiler.

Amanda Mertins was born in Ohio and graduated the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics. She started moving and editing furniture and accessories while in grade school and hasn’t stopped since. She enjoys baking desserts and playing with her grandchildren.

Kim Weiler was born in Pennsylvania and graduated the University of the Arts with a degree in graphic design. Upon graduating, she was immediately hired by one of her professors at the Katz Wheeler Design firm. She loves design, gardening, sweet tea and all French bulldogs.

Amanda and Kim are excellent complements to one another-one could even say the Yin and Yang of design. Being very different people but with interconnected forces is the reason their partnership continues to flourish.
