The Three ‘P’s for Better Curb Appeal
First impressions are everything. A welcoming home exterior can help sell your property or just simply be pleasant to come home to after a long day. You don’t have to break the bank to create that warm welcome. Here are my three, easy tips to give your home a stunning street view.
Paint Your Door

Your door is the first greeting your guests get when they walk into your home. A simple way to add “wow” factor is to add a fresh coat of paint. The color should be in harmony with the rest of your home’s aesthetic, landscaping, and even neighborhood attitude. Paint runs about $25-$40 per gallon, which is super wallet friendly compared to buying a new door. Speaking of wallets, certain colors can have a powerful impact on your home’s sale price. Houses with black doors tend to sell 70 percent faster. A black door gives buyers the impression that your home is a stately and glamorous.
Plant Pops of Color
A quick way to add pops of color to your front yard is planting fresh flowers. Bright flowers and bold foliage instantly add curb appeal. Try adding hydrangeas. They are low maintenance and produce a beautiful blue, pink, or lavender bloom. If you don’t have much garden space, bright window boxes are also a great way to add greenery. Petunias, impatiens, and snapdragons create beautiful splashes of color.
Pressure Wash
Natural elements like sun, wind, and rain constantly beat on your home. Pressure washing your house is required preventative maintenance to protect your exterior from permanent stains and even mold damage. Pressure washing is way less expensive than painting the entire exterior and you get a similar effect. Your house will look fresh and new without spending tons of money. Take it a step further and pressure wash your deck, stoop, and driveway. Your home will clean up nicely and be photo ready!
